“The practice of Sport is a Human Right”
Dear friends,
When it comes to the aspect of Sports in India the aspect and scenario has never been really that apt for us to be considered as sporting superpower. Though looking back on time it can be easily inferred that India has had a glorious past in the context of Sports.

Although the governments have constructed a few stadiums and provided facilities in the country but availability of all these facilities are restricted to urban society only and that too are limited to metropolis only and there are not even basic facilities out of these are available to the majority rural parts of the country, the areas consist of ninety percent populace of the nation leaving them far away from the mainstream.

It is a matter of great concern and disheartenment that despite being a nation of Billions we are still happy procuring a handful of medals. However positive steps are being taken in this direction by the governmental and non-governmental levels by roping in NGOs who have their reach even at far-flung areas and the future of the Indian sports surely will take on the greater and faithful leaps leap towards procurement of greater success in the coming times but much more is needed to be done in this direction.
In recognition of the importance of sports, a separate department was set up in 1982, prior to the commencement of the 9th Asian Games. Subsequently, the first ever National Sports Policy was announced in 1984. The Ministry of Human Resource Development was set up in 1985, with the objective of integrating efforts for development of human potential in the areas of Education, Women & Child Development, Arts and culture, Youth Affairs & Sports through its constituent departments.
Sports of India is contributing towards development of sports through its various programmes like organising camps in villages and other rural areas inspiring youth towards Sports by explaining them how sports can contribute towards their better future, organising coaching and training camps, tournaments, rolling trophy championships, Sports Festivals etc. across the rural parts of the nation surrounding New Delhi, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Gandhinagar, Shimla, Ranchi, Kanpur, Jallandhar, Mumbai, Goa, Bangaluru, Hyderabad, Dehradoon, Raipur, Lucknow, Jaipur, etc. providing a useful and a worthy platform that benefitted thousands of rural youth by providing them a Free of Cost platform to showcase their hidden sporting treasure. All the participants are provided free registration, food & other nutrition, travelling, lodging & Boarding, medals, shields, trophies, Certificates of Participation and other related facilities are provided free of cost to promote sports among the next generation of the country.

No doubt the nation has expanded into new domain of sports after winning a few medals in international sporting competitions but, the credit goes exclusively goes to our brave youth who ventured without having coaching, training & sports infrastructure such as stadiums, equipments etc. of that level, although the numbers of medals won by India are much less than the other countries.

Now the major context where we need to focus to lead India to be the next destination of Sporting Superpower is how can be the infrastructure of the Sports be improved. Most importantly this also needs proper nurturing and enhancement facility of sportsperson at budding ages (school) as done in China.
